2025 Fundraiser

Your donation will be matched
dollar for dollar!

WHEN

Sunday 16 June 2024, 3pm

WHERE

The Loft

16 Fraser Street

Aldinga Beach SA

Since its establishment in 2012, Soundstream's Emerging Composers Forum has commissioned 24 emerging composers, whose performances have been recorded and broadcast through national radio.

The ECF Fundraiser raises funds to underpin the commissioning of new Australian works by Australia's up and coming composers through a mentorship program.

Our 2025 ECF looks to be one of our most exciting yet, with mentors including the Inarma Women's Choir from Titjikala NT and renowned soundscape composers Cheryl Leonard (US) and Jesse Budel (AUS) in residence at Aldinga Beach SA.

Thanks to the ACF Boost program, your donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar with a funding ‘boost’ up to $5,000 from Creative Australia.

The afternoon fundraiser will feature performances by Gabriella Smart and Jesse Budel of works by previous ECF participants.

Inarma Choir Workshops - April 2024

The Inarma Choir from Titjikala Community have gone from strength to

strength. Over several years the Elders, who have been singing together for 50

years, have worked tirelessly to invite younger women who are family to join

them. This long-term plan has now come to fruition, with an inspired group of

young women singing with the two remaining Elders. Acclaimed choral director

Christie Anderson (Adelaide Chamber Singers, Young Adelaide Voices) taught

the Choir for the week in the idyllic surrounds of Ross River NT. This workshop

was supported by Creative Australia.

In July, close family Elders from Ernabella will join a music workshop in Alice

Springs. These women share cultural roots and will sing gospel and original songs

in the Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara languages, sharing knowledge with their

sisters from Inarma Choir. The young women will be empowered through this

sharing of culture. This workshop is supported by Arts South Australia and the

University of Adelaide.

The creation of the Electric Cristal, and Gabriella’s concert tour is generously supported by Arts South Australia.

Chamber Music Adelaide:
Perspectives Concert

10 and 11 May 2024

Adelaide Town Hall

Chamber Music as a living and evolving art form is celebrated with four new chamber works by South Australian composers, to be showcased at the Adelaide Town Hall.

Written especially for South Australian musicians and featuring artists including Desiree Frahn, Pelham Andrews, Adelaide Baroque and Celia Craig, these news works are premiered alongside works spanning chamber music’s rich history, including Sure on this Shining Night and folk songs set by Britten.

Each new work places text, song and story-telling at the heart of their piece, allowing the audience to experience the unique musical and cultural perspective of its composer.

With works by established composer Anne Cawrse as well as a unique collaboration between Arabana songwriter, Nathan May, and Julian Ferraretto, these concerts share the story of places through chamber music.
