Join conductor and producer Jesse Budel in an afternoon fundraising event for Considering Matthew Shepard, a modern-day oratorio by Craig Hella Johnson, reflecting on the 1998 homophobic murder of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming USA. This year marks the 25th anniversary of these tragic events, and Soundstream performing the work between October 12-14 in Adelaide's Elder Hall.
The afternoon will feature performances by soprano Chloe Dunstan (Aurora Vocal Ensemble) and Jesse Budel, as well as a screening of a PBS documentary exploring the oratorio and the events that led to its creation.
Light refreshments and drinks will be provided, overlooking the stunning Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park and Gulf St Vincent at sunset.
The fundraising supports Soundstream’s current Australian Cultural Fund campaign, raising funds for the forthcoming production. All donations over $2 are tax-deductible.
