Silence Augmenteth Grief

Silence Augmenteth Grief was a concert presented at the Samstag Museum of Art on 16 April 2015, featuring works exploring the themes of war and grief on the occasion of the ANZAC 100th Anniversary.

Works performed include The Heart’s Ear (2002) by Liza Lim, the world premiere of Animal (2014) by Daniel Portelli (a 2014 Soundstream Emerging Composers Forum commission), the world premiere of Picnic at Broken Hill by Jon Rose, and The Foundling (1997) by Stuart Greenbaum

Performers included conductor Warwick Stengards, soprano Emma Horwood, flutist Rebecca Johnson, clarinetist Peter Handsworth, violinists Elizabeth Layton and Lachlan Bramble, violist Juris Ezergailis, cellist Simon Cobcroft, pianist Gabriella Smart and the Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus.
